Rexhep Rexhepi left his native Kosovo for Geneva as a teenager and shortly after took up an apprenticeship at at Patek Philippe aged just 14. Rexhep then moved to FP Journe, where he quickly advanced to assembling their most complex and mechanically sophisticated timepieces.
In 2012, Rexhep Rexhepi created the Atelier Akrivia, located in Geneva’s old town, where the watchmaker and his team continuously work according to the fine watchmaking tradition by integrating all the necessary know-how. An independent watchmaker, both traditional and contemporary, inspired by Geneva’s watchmaking history - in terms of style, craftsmanship and technique. The Atelier Akrivia develops, decorates and assembles each movement, while a micro-mechanic’s workshop builds the cases with Jean-Pierre Hagmann’s invaluable help.
Rexhep Rexhepi has been honoured by his peers at two GPHGs, the first in 2018 for the Chronomètre Contemporain I and the second in 2022 for the Chronomètre Contemporain II - both in the men’s watch category.
